Welcome to Lake Nona High School!
Sunday Update -4/13
The performing arts department and I would like to share a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the 238 students and staff involved in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Whether you helped behind the scenes or came out to see the show, we are truly grateful. With over 2,600 tickets sold, this was our highest-selling musical in the last five years — an incredible achievement that reflects the talent, passion, and dedication of our students and staff. We are proud to say we are the Best in OCPS when it comes to performing arts!
As we celebrate this success, we also want to refocus on the importance of being on time to school. Too many students are arriving after the bell rings, which disrupts their learning and the learning of others. The first bell rings everyday promptly at 7:15 AM, and we need your support to ensure your student is in class and ready to go by that time each day.
Let’s keep the momentum going — let’s make it a great week!

ACT MAKE UPS
Dear Parents and Guardians of 11th Graders,
I am writing to inform you about some technical issues that occurred during the ACT School Day exam on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 & Friday, April 11, 2025. Unfortunately, these issues prevented some students from either taking or completing the exam.
As you may know, students are required to use OCPS loaned devices to complete the digital ACT. However, we encountered network compatibility issues that hindered many students from accessing the testing platform.
Please rest assured that Lake Nona High School is committed to providing a fair and stress-free opportunity for all affected students to retake the exam. We will be reaching out to students via email to coordinate makeup testing dates, following the guidance of the district. Unfortunately, ACT has informed us that students will NOT be able to continue where they left off due to ACT’s test security policy and all students affected will lose all their progress made on their previous test date. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused.
If your child wishes to forego this opportunity, please contact [email protected] to discuss available options.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this situation. Our priority is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Sincerely,
Terri, Mason, Testing Coordinator
SUMMER SCHOOL
This is a reminder that only select students have been identified to participate in Summer School for the 2024-2025 school year. If your child qualifies, you should have already received communication through Connect Orange messages and school Talking Points.
If your child is eligible, it is important that you respond promptly to secure their spot. Registration will close on May 7, 2025, and late responses will not be accepted.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact Mrs. Killingsworth at [email protected]. Thank you for your attention and partnership.
VIRTUAL FINANCIAL AID PRESENTATION
LNHS Students and Parents, join us for our Virtual Financial Aid Information Session. We go over general information about Financial Aid, Bright Futures and FAFSA. We will have time for questions at the end of the presentation. Email Ms. Jennifer Gautier for the link to the meeting.
