Hello Lion Family,
The start of the school year has been very exciting. With all the extra activities we are truly creating a culture that celebrates school spirit. But we must ensure we continue to create a culture that is focused on student success.
Two weeks ago we hosted Johnny’s House from XL106.7. Our students had an opportunity to watch a live broadcast and many of our students and programs were highlighted on the radio! Please feel free to listen to the recorded podcast through the iheartradio app (use this hyperlink).

Start with HELLO!
This past week, September 19-23, was focused on promoting and celebrating inclusivity, connectivity and positive school community on campus. Part of our SAFE initiatives, and spearheaded by our School Social Worker, Mrs. Kempfer, and our SAFE Coordinator, Mrs. Whitfield, it’s one of the Sandy Hook Promises where no student feels alone—especially while at school.
Students and staff participated through morning greetings (Say Hello Monday), learning something new about an adult (Fun Fact Tuesday), wearing green (Green-out Wednesday), collaborating on a positivity poster (Thursday), and taking the initiative in meeting someone new (Conversation Starter Friday). What an invigorating way to celebrate being a Lake Nona LION!
Orchestra Concert
Our Fall Orchestra Concert was held on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:30 PM in our Performing Arts Center! Our orchestras performed music from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, ABBA, Guns & Roses, and more! Their performance was amazing! Thank you to all that came out to enjoy what our students are passionate about.
Hispanic Heritage Month Essay and Art Contests
September 15 through October 15, 2022 is Hispanic Heritage Month. Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis are hosting the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration and have invited all Florida students to participate in the variety of contests. The theme for this year’s essay and art contests is “Celebrating the Achievements of Hispanic Floridians.”
For more information about visit the Hispanic Heritage page at www.FloridaHispanicHeritage.com. All entries must be received by 5:00 PM on September 21, 2022. LNHS will be sending out Hispanic Heritage Month school-event items very soon!
